There is no way that you could have missed those flexible bouncy castles that are the rage of birthday parties nowadays. Kids just love to hop on to these fun inflatables and jump with delight on them. Their eyes light up and they love it when the bouncy castle sways with their jumping. And the parents don’t mind their kids playing on these party attractions because they know that there is virtually zero chances of their kids getting injured whilst having the time of their lives.

These inflatables are available in different shapes and designs, most of which are based on the world of fantasy and cartoons. Most people are so enthralled by the bouncy castles that they never bother to think about the air compressors that are used to inflate them.

Talk about air compressors and some people start thinking about a portable compressor that can be pumped with your foot or plug into your car cigarette lighter. The compressors used for inflating a bouncy castles, on the other hand, are much larger machines that run on either electricity or even a petrol powered generator and have a high flow of air to keep even the largest of bouncy castles inflated.

Petrol powered air compressors are ideal for open-air events since these tools do not depend on electricity to power them. You can use these to run a bouncy castle hire business and rent out your inflatables to local events and parties and can be used virtually anywhere. You could even attend public events such as car boot sales, festivals and fêtes and allow people to pay to use your bouncy castle and make some extra money on weekends.

You’ve had your air compressor for a long time. Or maybe it’s even brand new. For some reason, though, it’s not working correctly. This can be a pain if you’re in need of compressed air at home and it goes out. It’s important to properly maintain and store any type of air compressor you might have so that it doesn’t break. Everything in this world eventually breaks down, though, so it’s good to know about obtaining air compressor parts or getting your air compressor serviced.

Air Line Fittings

Air line fittings simply refer to the different types of nozzles that you can attach to the end of the line coming out of your air compressor. This allows you to have some control over the compressed air coming out. There are many different types of air line fittings available. Shop around until you find the ones that will be most useful for what you’re using the air compressor for – be it air power tools or filling tires.

Compressed Air Filters

Compressed air filters – filters to take impurities out of the air that’s compressed – are more common with medical air compressors than industrial air compressors. That said, they’re an important part of medical air compressors because the air used by those is sometimes used to send oxygen into the lungs of a person. Finding the best compressed air filter is worth the time and money you might spend when you think about this.

Compressed Air Specialist

While air compressors may seem to be really simple equipment, you should always confer with or see directly a compressed air specialist before you go trying to make adjustments or fixes yourself. While it’s a really simple process and mechanism that makes them work, air compressors are actually a really complex piece of equipment. Before you go taking yours apart, it would be best to consult with a compressed air specialist so you don’t hurt the equipment or yourself.

Air Compressor Maintenance

As with other things in life, if you don’t take care of it properly, your air compressor will have a shorter life span and may become dangerous to have around. With this in mind, you want to make sure that a.) you know how to properly take care of your air compressor equipment and b.) you actually do take the time to perform maintenance on your air compressor (the basics) or take it to an air compressor specialist who can repair it and keep it running at 100% efficiency and safety.

Compressed Air Installations

Sometimes, especially with larger industrial or medical air compressors, you’re going to want to get some help. Compressed air installations can be done by compressed air specialists usually for not too much money. And let’s face it. If you can have peace of mind knowing the air compressor was installed correctly and will work how and when you need it to work – isn’t it worth it?

Compressed Air Consultancy

If you’re unsure about what type of air compressor you need, or what will be best for your particular situation, a compressed air consultancy might be the solution. By talking to a compressed air specialist, you can ask questions that pertain directly to you and your situation and get answers right away. This may cost you money, but in the long run it’s worth it if you can get the best air compressor for your money and also get help installing it correctly. A compressed air consultancy may also be able to help train you on air compressor maintenance and parts for your air compressor, saving you money in the long run.

Air Compressors and You

So there you have it. It’s not the most complete look at air compressors ever done, but hopefully you now know a little more about air compressors – their uses, how they work, and what you can use them for – than when you started reading. If you’re in the market for an air compressor, it’s best to know as much as you can before you go in and buy the wrong air compressor for what you’re wanting to do or even worse, end up spending a lot more money than you wanted to in the first place.

Compressed air isn’t the most exciting topic in the world, but it’s interesting for some and valuable information to others who might be looking for an air compressor. Whether you fit into either category, we hope we’ve answered all your questions about compressed air and air compressors of all different types. If not, check back often for new and exciting (well, maybe a little bit exciting) news and information about air compressors of all types and sizes.

Just as there are many different types of air compressors, there are also many uses for air compressors. Here’s a quick rundown of some of the common (and not so common) uses for air compressors. We don’t go into a lot of detail about the various, specific types of air compressors, but rather list the more common uses for various types of areas – from medical to industrial to the home.

Medical Air Compressors

Air compressors for medical uses are fairly common throughout the world. Basically, they’re used to draw air in from the room and push it into a tube to help patients breathe. That said, it’s really a complex piece of equipment that’s tested and studied because it plays such an important role – helping a human being stay alive. There are typically two types of medical air compressors used – large units that plug into an electrical outlet and smaller, portable medical air compressors that are generally run with some type of battery.

Industrial Air Compressors

You may be more familiar with industrial uses for air compressors. From air power tools to other type of air tools, air compressor tools make getting the job done a lot easier for contractors and construction workers all over. Industrial air compressors have a lot of different uses and come in a lot of different styles (and sizes), but there is sure to be one for every job.

Home Air Compressors

Air compressors to use in your garage at your home will most likely not be as advanced or large as medical or industrial air compressors. That doesn’t mean they’re not helpful to have around, though. From filling up tires (whether on a bike or car) to blowing dust from something to powering various air power tools, the uses are many. And that’s what makes them such an important part of any serious home owner’s collection of tools.

Many Uses for Air Compressors

As you can see, there’s a wide array of uses for air compressors – some you may not thought of before. So next time you find yourself wondering about the different types of air compressors available, and what they do, you can rest easy, knowing what you know now. You’re encouraged to keep reading this site, though, for even more information on air compressors and other things directly or indirectly tied to them.

Were you under the impression that there is only one type of air compressor available? If you were, you’re wrong. That’s ok, though. Air compressors can be a little overwhelming with everything that’s available. To help out, here’s a list of some different types of air compressors and briefly, how they work.

Reciprocating (Piston) Air Compressors

Reciprocating air compressors use positive displacement (the space available for air is made smaller by a piston) to create air to store in a tank for your use. This is very similar to the way an internal combustion piston engine works in a car. Luckily, there’s no combustion, though, as the air is simply compressed by the piston and stored in a tank for your later use.

Rotary Air Compressors

The principle behind this is similar to a piston air compressor, but instead of one piston pushing the air, rotary air compressors usually have two pieces that work like screws – able to twist up and down. As they twist toward each other, the air is compressed and pushed into a storage tank. This type of air compressor can be a little quieter than some of the other types of air compressors.

Centrifugal Air Compressors

Centrifugal air compressors don’t use positive displacement like piston and rotary air compressors. Instead, they use a piece that spins really fast, then slows the air down using the process of dynamic compression. This type of air compressor is generally used when a large amount of air is needed. It may take more energy (electricity) to run this type of air compressor.

Types of Air Compressors and You

So, which type of air compressor is right for you? That’s not an easy question to answer. Well, not without more details about what you’re going to be using the air compressor for – medical uses (centrifugal air compressors are more common) or industrial uses (piston and rotary air compressors are more common here.) With the knowledge you have now, though, you’ll be able to make the right decision on what type of air compressor is best for you.

Ok, so maybe you weren’t afraid to ask questions about air compressors, but I’m sure if you’ve had to use one or are looking for one, you may have questions. Air compressors have a lot of different uses – some that go beyond their basic function of filling tires or other things with air. Other uses include the ability to run air powered tools like staple guns, drills, etc. Being so useful, it’s good to get an air compressor that works and will last.

Which brings us to air compressor parts and air compressor service – knowing how to take care of, fix, and get parts for your air compressor will go a long way in making sure the equipment lasts and you get the most value for your money. Some things can’t be fixed on your own, but it’s good to know about air compressor parts so you don’t get taken when trying to get yours fixed for whatever reason.

As you can see, there’s a lot about air compressors that you might not know or might not have even thought about before. But if you’re in the market for an air compressor (compressed air has a lot of uses), continue reading to get some of your basic questions answered. If you’re not even sure why you would want an air compressor, you should continue reading also.

If you’ve never thought about getting an air compressor or couldn’t imagine why you would want to get one, stop and think a moment. It’s not the most glamorous tool to have around, but it’s a very useful tool to have. From filling tires (or toys) with air to running air power tools to simply removing dust from an engine or somewhere else – air compressors have a lot of different uses.

With all that in mind, here’s some more information about the topics mentioned above – types of air compressors, uses for air compressors and air compressor parts and services. Whether you’re brand new to the world of air compressors or are a little more familiar with them, we’re sure to have some information you might not have known. On the off chance that we don’t have the information you’re lookinf for, stop back by at a later date to see if we’ve added it.
